Trying the endo diet…

So I’ve read lots of things about what to eat and what not to eat. It is a little overwhelming…it seems as if you have to cut everything (everything yummy that is) out. No wheat, no dairy, no sugar, no red meat, and no soy. It also insists on eating organic whenever possible. Now I don’t know about you, but that is a lot to take in…as I happen to love everything I just listed.

I’ve looked through a couple of super markets that have organic sections. It seems tough to cut out all at once and I’ve actually been told to start with one thing at a time. Probably a good idea. However, I’m trying to cut out wheat and dairy at the same time. Do you know how many things contain wheat?! Just look in your pantry…you’ll be surprised. So I purchased some bread that was gluten free and its alright. It’s cut into small pieces and its a little dense and crumbly. The taste isn’t too bad but really there isn’t much flavor. I have also tried some rice milk. Pleasantly surprised with this one. When mixed with cereal you really can’t tell a difference…although I will miss my skim milk :(

I’m trying to drink more water. I’m like a camel. I can go all day on one glass of water. Not a good idea I know…but I hate drinking…anything. It’s something I have to make a conscious effort to do. I have found using a straw helps me get it down quicker. Just a little tip.

Haven’t started on the vitamins or omega-3s. I hope to get all that squared away soon.

On another note, my RE’s office should be getting my Lupron shot in tomorrow…they had a slight delay (my how convenient.) So hopefully I’ll go in Friday morn…I don’t think I could do another early Monday appt.

  1. wow, that’s hardcore, i don’t think i could cut out wheat since EVERYTHING has wheat in some form or another. i’ll be interested to see if it helps though.

    I hope it helps you.
I have wanted to try it, but unfortunately with having so many health conditions… I may get one under control but cause another to flare.
Let us know how it goes!

  4. Holy crap!!! That is a hardcore diet. I have cut out red meat for other reasons and I can’t drink milk but cutting out out caffeine, wheat and soy. . . . yikes! Good luck =)

  5. Painful sex / bowel movements can be related to endo in the cul-de-sac / pouch of douglas, located between the rectum and vagina.

These are some great sites, surgery can help. Endo can get worse without surgery :( (they’re great!)

the PCOS diet and IC diet can also help with pain
